The Final Chapter is a website designed for helping people to have quick access to information on creating a will, and a way to help them divide their estate.

Problem
The problem is that many people do not have a will. Also to have a way for them to help them divide their assets.
Goal
The goal was to create a website to help gently educate people on creating a will.
Primary Users:
Older Adults: A group of individuals who are getting older and realize that their end is relevant and they should start finding a way to begin a journey of how to start that plan.
Secondary Users:
Various Adults: Adults who are interested in taking care of their planning or they know someone who should think about planning out their end of days.
Terminally Ill People: People that are aware that they will expire soon and need an easy way to be able to know what resources or options are available to them before they expire.

Why Death?
I started this journey a few years ago after my dad passed away. My family was open to having conversations about death which actually helped me be comfortable with death in general. After the dust settled with my dad, I started thinking about myself. I realized that my knowledge on death was limited and that needed to change, little did I know how much of a change it would make. Over the years I over heard stories from people being robbed of their inheritance because the beneficiary decided to keep the estate for themselves. During my research I mentioned my project to someone I knew through passing and they had suffered from a bad experience from their loved one thinking they knew everything about what they had to do, when their loved one died, they were left with a huge mess that took years to get through. Unfortunately thats where their story ended, thats where my work begins.
Where did you start?
I started with conducting secondary research and a deep dive into the current space to figure out what was currently out there and how effective it was. I needed to conduct user interviews to see what people knew did they have a will? What did they know or not know?

Sketching My Ideas
After listening to what the participants had to say about their experiences. From what they had to say, I started getting ideas on what the website layout would be and how people would navigate it.
Transitioning
From the low fidelity wireframes, I transitioned to mid-fidelity wireframes using the program Axure. Once that was complete, I conducted user testing on the prototype to see if people would navigate it efficiently. Also, to find a way for people to be gently educated as well as have a call to action.
Conclusion
The website is created based on the voices of the people that struggle with death planning. Overall the design was a success. I was able to learn more than I ever had with this space. Also, discovering how people said they thought they knew more than they did was something I did not expect. I was able to strategize a way for people to be curious and take action.
